Ranger: field notes

Distance, movement and precise shots.

The vocation in a hunt

Maintain room to move. Automatic ranged combat needs a legal retreat route, and an obstacle can turn comfortable distance into a dangerous corner.

Equipment and resources

Watch mana alongside attack output. Configure supply purchases and review the hunt’s cost before leaving it unattended.

A useful first comparison

Start with a familiar hunting area and change one part of the build at a time. Review kills, resource use and survival. The skill tree and class-compatible equipment offer decisions, but a larger number alone does not establish a stronger overall routine.

A line through the enemies

Piercing shots reward a useful firing line, while traps and poison apply pressure as opponents approach. The companion is temporary; it does not replace a permanent summoned army. Positioning should therefore account for the moment when the companion expires as well as the opening of the fight.

What the automatic routine needs

A ranged route needs legal space to retreat and a line of fire. Place the character where movement has room before starting a long hunt. If the route repeatedly ends against an obstacle, more attack alone does not solve that problem. Supplies and the cost of repeated mana use remain part of the routine.
