Riftwalker: field notes
Rift energy and mobile melee combat.

The vocation in a hunt
Mobile melee still needs a valid route and landing space. Test the rotation around obstacles before assuming open-ground behaviour will carry into every corner.
Equipment and resources
Read vocation resources and weapon compatibility together. A generic item with irrelevant bonuses is not necessarily an upgrade over a more focused piece.
A useful first comparison
Start with a familiar hunting area and change one part of the build at a time. Review kills, resource use and survival. The skill tree and class-compatible equipment offer decisions, but a larger number alone does not establish a stronger overall routine.
Prepared positions become tools
Basic attacks and the rift step leave visible echoes on the ground. Those positions can support a return, protection or a collapse attack. Separate placements give the character something useful to work with; overlapping effects are not a way to multiply the same impact without limit.
The echo is not a door through a wall
Echoes expire and are consumed by techniques. Walls still restrict returns and reach. Plan a legal destination before using a return as the answer to a dangerous crowd. The vocation’s advantage comes from prepared positions and timing, not unrestricted movement through the world.
