Travel together: companions and mounts

Three companions with their own attacks and bond levels, and three mounts that carry the character across the world.

Price update, October 4: version 0.64.2 sets companion prices at 25,000 / 150,000 / 500,000 gold and mount prices at 50,000 / 250,000 / 1,000,000. The launch prices below are historical. Existing ownership is preserved.

Character > Companions brings all six travelling partners together. Each belongs to one character, and one companion and one mount can be equipped at the same time. All are obtained with ordinary gold: no ruby purchase or subscription is required.

Dusk Fox unlocks at level 3 for 250 gold, Iron Hound at level 10 for 1,200, and Moss Drake at level 20 for 3,000. The fox favours kill experience; the hound favours damage; the drake has a stronger individual strike. Their base kill-XP bonuses are 7%, 3% and 4%, and their base vocation-damage bonuses are 2%, 6% and 4%, respectively.

A companion follows alongside its owner and attacks independently. Magical paths receive an arcane companion attack; Ranger has a ranged physical attack, and melee paths have a close-range attack. Companions respect walls, hunting bounds, recovery and excluded bosses. They are separate from class summons and do not occupy summon slots or tank incoming attacks.

Completed kills grant bond experience to the equipped companion. Bond levels strengthen its attack, kill-XP bonus and damage bonus, with progressively slower growth. Offline hunting includes its damage and awards bond experience for completed encounters. Unfinished fights, quests and training do not grant bond XP.

Wayfarer Horse unlocks at level 5 for 600 gold: +6% health, 1 percentage point of defense, +2% vocation damage and +20% movement speed. Stone Boar unlocks at level 15 for 2,200: +12% health, 3 points of defense, +3% damage and +12% speed. Moon Stag unlocks at level 30 for 5,000: +8% health, 2 points of defense, +5% damage and +16% speed. Existing combat caps still apply.

The equipped character sits on the mount, with directional movement and the existing clothing and equipment appearance. Shapeshifting temporarily hides the mount while retaining its bonuses. Switching mounts does not restore health, and switching companions does not reset their attack cooldown. Equip best now includes equipped partners and bond levels in its build evaluation.
