The floodgate works
Dark limestone, blue brine and working brass mechanisms give the Salt cavern its own visual identity.
The Salt Below now reads as an abandoned pumping station. Dark cut limestone frames the brine channels, with salt deposits and brass conduits set into the dry walkways. Both existing routes keep their geometry and encounters.
Each of the three guarded courts has a floor-mounted valve. Its crossed handle turns open when that court is cleared, while the northern bulkhead reflects the actual passage state. Machinery stays grounded, and attack warnings remain above the floor details.
This update changes presentation, not boss health, damage, rewards or paid bonuses. Future cavern design will continue to build around a distinct setting, a central mechanic, route decisions, a boss that develops that mechanic, a worthwhile reward and a lasting story consequence. Reliable party movement and preserved progress are requirements, not difficulty settings.
